- Natural insectcide
DESCRIPTION:
INSECTASTOP is a dry wettable powder which
consists of diatomaceous earth, pyrethrins
(chrysanthemum plant extract) and piperonyl
butoxide (botanical extract) used as a natural
multipurpose insecticide for a broad range
of insect control. Use for vegetable and growing
crops, field grain crops, fruit, nut, vine
and oriental vegetable crops, grasses, lawn,
turf and gardens, etc.
BENEFITS:
- Broad range of Insects Controlled
- Kills Insects Mechanically and Botanically
- Additional Repellent Properties
- Highly Effective Formula
- Easy to Apply
- Low Toxicity for People

HOW IT
WORKS:
The foundation of INSECTASTOP begins millions
of years ago with the death of prehistoric
single-celled plants called Diatoms. The fossilized
remains of these Diatoms are transformed into
a chalky material called Diatomaceous Earth
(DE), which is the key compound in INSECTASTOP.
The inherently abrasive nature and high absorbency
of DE give it a unique mechanical killing
power over insects. The ultra-fine slivers
of processed DE attack an insect’s waxy
exoskeleton and through abrasion and desiccation,
provide an opening for the natural dehydrating
effects of DE to absorb the insect’s
body fluids. Death occurs by dehydration.
To provide a "knock down" quality
and botanical death of insects, INSECTASTOP
also contains natural Pyrethrin (a proven
insect killer derived from the chrysanthemum
flower) and Piperonyl Butoxide (Sassafras
from the Ocotea Tree) to eliminate the potential
for adaptation by insects and increase the
effectiveness of Pyrethrin insecticide. |
TECHNICAL DATA
PURPOSE:
For use indoors and outdoors including
but not limited to grasses, lawns & turf (including
golf courses), gardens, vegetable & growing
crops (outdoors and greenhouses), ornamentals,
specialty crops, field grain crops, fruit, nut,
vine and oriental vegetable crops.
DOSAGES:
[minimum 1 pound, up to 6 pounds per
acre (1.1 to 7 kg /ha)]
FRUIT, NUT, VINE AND SPECIALITY CROPS:
Use 2 to 6 pounds per acre (2–7 kg/ha) depending
upon the insect population and the amount of damage.
ON HARVESTED TOMATOES AND FRUITS INCLUDING
GRAPES: Apply with a hand or power sprayer,
or other suitable means on tomatoes and the fruits
in the basket, on trucks or in plants, raw stock
stacked in the yard. Apply liberally at the rate
of 8oz./100sq. ft. (24 g/m2) of area.
FOR ORNAMENTAL, VEGETABLES, FIELD CROPS
AND MISCELLANEOUS CROPS: Use 2 to 6 pounds
of the product per acre (2–7 kg/ha) depending
on the insect population and amount of foliage.
AS A GRAIN PROTECTANT: Dilute
1 pound in 5 gallons of water (24 g/lt.) and apply
to the grain at the rate of 4 to 5 gallons per
1000 bushels (0.6-0.7lt/ton) as the grain is carried
along a belt or as it enters the auger or elevator.
Monthly inspection should be made to determine
if the top 2 or 3 inches are found to be reinfested.
Retreat at the rate of 1 to 2 gallons of dilution
per 1000 bushels (0.14 – 0.28 lt./ton) of
stored product.
IN MUSHROOM PRODUCTION AND PROCESSING:
Apply dilution at a rate of 5 oz. per 1000 cu.
ft. (5 g/m3) of space. Direct spray 8 to 10 feet
away from beds and slightly upwards over beds.
Keep the circulating fans running but turn off
the refrigerators during the application. In processing
plants, use at the rate of 5 oz. per 2000cu. ft.
(2.5 g/m3) of space.
MOSQUITO CONTROL: Use 2 to 12
oz. per acre (2-14 kg/ha) when applied by fixed
winged aircraft, helicopters and truck mounted
equipment. Do not apply in a manner as to directly
or through drift, expose workers or other persons.
Unprotected persons must vacate the area being
treated.
GRASSES, LAWNS AND TURF (INCLUDING GOLF
COURSES): Use 16oz. per 1000sq.ft. (5
g/m2) of area. Apply either as a DUST or as a
WETTABLE POWDER. Use hose end sprayer for lawns,
add a small amount of water to the jar and add
the amount needed for the measured area, stir
to make slurry, then add the remaining water to
the top of the jar. Empty the entire contents
of the jar on the pre-measured area.
FIRE ANTS:
Mound Drench or Water Method:
Use 0.6oz. (4 tbsp.) to one gallon of water (5
g/lt.). For best results, saturate the perimeter
of the mounds first working towards the center
of the mound in a circular motion (you may want
the mixture to puddle). An ant mound 12-14 inches
(30-36 cm) in diameter requires approximately
one gallon (3.8 lt.) of the mix.
Hand Sprayer: Use 0.6 oz. (4
tbsp.) to one gallon of water 5 g/lt.). It is
best to keep the material agitated during application.
Apply the contents to a pre-measured area.
Hose end sprayer: Use 16 oz.
per 1000sq. ft. (5 g/m2) of area. Use a hose end
sprayer for lawns, add a small amount of water
to the jar and add the amount needed for the measured
area, stir to make a slurry, and then add the
remaining water to the top of the jar. Empty the
entire contents of the jar on the pre-measured
area.
As a Dust: For the best results,
dust the perimeter of the mounds first, with a
stick disturb the mound, then dust the mound in
a circular motion working towards the center until
the entire mound is dusted.
METHODS OF APPLICATION:
AS A DUST, the best results
are obtained when the plants are wet or dew still
remains on the leaf surface. It is suggested that
the plants be misted prior to the application
to obtain the maximum benefits and in order to
use the least amount of product for control. Reapply
only as necessary.
AS A WETTABLE POWDER, apply in
sufficient water to gain the optimum coverage.
Dilution of the material should be at the maximum
rate of one half pound in one half gallon of water
(12 g /lt.) or at a minimum of one pound to 25
gallons of water (4 tbsp. per gallon –5
g/lt.). It is best to keep the material agitated
during the application. Apply the material uniformly
to both the upper and the lower leaf surfaces.
Reapply only as necessary. Rates will vary with
insect populations and amount of foliage, but
adequate control can be obtained at 2 to 6 pounds
product per acre (2-7 kg/ha).
